Veronica Tolander
PRINCIPAL
Veronica Tolander became president of Studio 483 Architects in 2026, bringing nearly two decades of professional experience in architecture, design leadership, and public-sector management. Raised in the Chicago suburbs, she developed an early appreciation for the profession under the influence of her father, an architect, and went on to become a third-generation graduate of Iowa State University, where she earned her degree in architecture.
Throughout her career, Veronica has built a diverse portfolio spanning private practice, firm ownership, and public service. She has led both new construction and complex renovation projects across a wide range of building types, including residential, senior living, commercial, industrial, educational, and government facilities. Her work is grounded in a commitment to thoughtful design, technical excellence, and the integration of sustainable strategies that reduce energy use and long-term operational costs.
Veronica also is committed to community impact, volunteering in disaster recovery through structural safety inspections and contributing to building projects for those in need.
She is known for her strategic mindset, collaborative leadership style, and client-focused approach, and is passionate about aligning design excellence with practical, budget-conscious solutions that deliver lasting value.
Veronica and her husband, Adam, have two children, Maximus and Molly, and a dog, Templeton. Prior to moving to the Quad Cities, the family lived in Ankeny, Iowa. Outside of work, Veronica enjoys cooking and developing new recipes, traveling, and coaching and cheering on her children’s sports teams. She values time with family and brings her competitive spirit to game nights at home, where favorites like Acquire, Settlers of Catan, and Ticket to Ride are always on the table.
