Studio 483 Architects announces new president to lead next chapter of growth

Veronica Tolander has been appointed President of Studio 483 Architects. This marks an important milestone in the firm’s continued evolution and growth.

This leadership transition reflects a thoughtful step forward as the firm builds on its legacy of design excellence, strong client relationships, and community-focused work.

Founders Greg Gowey and Jeff Dismer will remain actively engaged as Principals, continuing to lead design efforts and maintain the trusted relationships they have built with clients.

“Studio 483 has always been grounded in thoughtful, well-planned design and strong partnerships,” said Gowey. “This transition allows us to build on that foundation while expanding our leadership to support the firm’s future.”

Tolander brings nearly two decades of architectural and leadership experience, most recently serving as Resources and Acquisitions Bureau Director for the Iowa Department of Transportation, where she led multidisciplinary teams and drove operational improvements.

A licensed architect and Certified Public Manager, Tolander is known for her strategic mindset and collaborative leadership style, with experience spanning both public sector leadership and private practice.

“I’m honored to join Studio 483 at such an exciting point in its journey,” said Tolander. “I look forward to working alongside Greg, Jeff, and the entire team to build on the firm’s strong legacy while helping shape its next chapter.”

“This transition is about strengthening the relationships that have made us successful,” said Dismer. “At Studio 483 Architects, we believe in building success together.  Our clients will continue to work with the same team they trust, while benefiting from additional leadership that positions us for long-term growth.”

Studio 483 will continue its client-focused approach and commitment to design excellence—now strengthened by an expanded leadership structure to support future growth.
