The MetroLINK Maintenance Facility occupies 11 acres at the eastern gateway into Rock Island. The 150,000 square foot facility is comprised of four distinct areas: maintenance, service, bus storage and operations. In pursuit of LEED Silver status with the USGBC, the building includes photo voltaics, solar hot water and other sustainable features. Significant daylighting was provided to all occupied spaces to enhance the working environment and boost employee output and morale. Studio 483 Architects and CH2M HILL collaborated on the design of this transit maintenance facility. This project incorporates the blending of the aesthetics, provided by Studio 483, with the operational considerations provided by CH2M HILL.
