The new UnityPoint Obstetrics/Gynecology space is a six-physician suite which optimizes the clinical patient flow while focusing on providing a soothing atmosphere to deliver services for women’s healthcare. The centralized reception utilizes a curved “egg” form as a focus, to simplify wayfinding and direct patients through the process flow. A warm color palette and curved translucent panels are incorporated to provide comfort and confidentiality for the patients. The internal clinical circulation groups patient services in pods by each physician, and wayfinding incorporates curved soffits and natural daylight to direct patients to the treatment nodes.
The project Design Team utilized an interactive three-dimensional design process to provide the shareholders a virtual walkthrough of the proposed clinic. The project was phased to expand the practice while maintaining clinical services for their patients. New clinical areas were occupied as completed, with the existing spaces renovated to carry through the soothing theme for a unified whole.
