Greg Gowey
PRINCIPAL
After graduating from Iowa State with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1983, Greg began his career in Davenport, Iowa with Scholtz – Kuehn & Associates. In 1994 he became a principal in the firm, and he served as president from 1998 to 2026.
Greg has over 35 years of architectural experience. Through the years he has enjoyed a diverse design experience with projects including higher education, K-12 schools, health care facilities, financial institutions, commercial, retail, religious, residential, and industrial projects. His success is attributed to strong communication throughout all phases of planning, design, and construction which is key to understanding a client’s needs and expectations.
He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), serves on the City of Davenport Iowa Building Code Board of Appeals, is treasurer of Christ United Methodist Church in Davenport, Iowa, and serves on the Davenport Schools Foundation Board. The goal of the foundation is to see that the maximum number of students benefit from an enhanced education through scholarships and grants-in-aid program funding.
When Greg is not working or volunteering, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching sports, working in his yard, and wood-working.
